Don't buy

The Bottom Line: Do not buy this unit. I, and many other people, have had problems with the unit turning itself off and back on. It is a lemon.
Bought at Tweeter/Sound Advice. They replaced within 1 yr warranty, as it was turning itself off and on as others have described. Now, the replacement started doing the same thing and this morning won't turn on at all!! DO NOT BUY THIS TV. $1500 and now, from what I'm reading, I'll have a long repair that will probably only be a temporary fix, anyway. TV was manufactured in Feb of 2006 and right now, in March of 2008, is a dead lemon. It is hard to believe that, with as many reviews as I've read about other people having the same problem, Sony hasn't issued some kind of recall. I'll be calling them and the place I purchased it from, but have a feeling that I am in bad shape. I was stupid not to get the extended warranty after the first one failed within a year. I thought "Sony is a quality product. I just got a bad unit. It would be doubly stupid to get the warranty now." It was doubly stupid not to. I need to get, within the next month, an approximately 40" unit for my Florida Room being added to the house. It will NOT be a Sony!
