by   sactowngirl ,  Nov 8, 2008
Pros: -crisp, clear, and vibrant picture!
-PC input to make TV your computer monitor
Cons: -no picture in picture option
-only 2 HDMI inputs (would like 3)
The Bottom Line: This is a great TV! HDTV is the ONLY way to watch television!

Yep, it's a Sony

by   hankshay ,  Apr 5, 2007
Pros: Excellent color and blacks. Very customizable picture and sound. Sony quality and design. Lightweight.
Cons: Price.
The Bottom Line: Sony quality in a HDTV LCD 1080p TV. Supports 1080p both with HDMI(DVI) and RGB.
Review: I've tried a variety of LCD TV's: Sharp Aquos 37", Sony 32", Olevia 37" and now the Sony KDL-40V2500. This is my first 1080p TV. LOOKS Looks are important. Sony is HOT. Just look at a lesser name brand (Olevia, Westinghouse or Sceptre) and ...

After a year, still a great set

by   onerunner2 ,  Jan 21, 2008
Pros: Great, clear picture. 1080pHD picture. Year warranty. Many inputs including 2 HDMI inputs.
Cons: Line of LED backlight went out under warranty, cycle time through inputs.
The Bottom Line: I recommend this set because compared to the other units, the picture can not be beat, especially for the price.
Review: Bought this TV to replace 19" CRT. Wow, this set is like a new experience. The Sony BRAVIA KDL-40V2500 40" is my first foray into the world of High Definition TV. When I bought this set one year ago, I did extensive research compared to other sets ...

WOW!

by   ebaskin_2000 ,  Jan 13, 2007
Pros: Picture quality. Best TV on the market in my opinion
Cons: Mute does not turn on/off Close captioning. Does not come with HDMI cable.
Review: The quality of picture on this TV is so much better than anything I have seen in any other TV (except the ones costing twice the price and even then they only match this quality and do not exceed it) that I would not even consider buying any other TV. I ...

I like it.

by   sltuckernj ,  Feb 20, 2007
Pros: Picture,Sound, Numerous inputs, PIP, Sony Name
Cons: No Cable Card, Remote is kind of plain
Review: I bought this TV at Best Buy under a special they were having with 3 years of no interest. It replaced a 32" Sony WEGA CRT Tube SDTV set. The KDL-40V2500 picture is amazing, everything sony has built a reputation for, bright, crisp, no ghosting, no dead ...

Absolutely amazing.

by   ucfkevin ,  Mar 9, 2007
Pros: If I could make love to this TV, I would.
Cons: Slight clouding issue. Not bad enough for an exchange.
Review: I've been planning on getting an HDTV for a while now, and for months I've been researching which ones are the best. I finally went ahead and got this thing after ages of research and I don't regret it for a second. If anyone out there is like me and has ...

A Few Minor Complaints (In Order)

by   janderkin ,  Sep 20, 2007
Pros: PC connection and plenty more, HD's beautiful, Attractive, Seems a little sturdier than others
Cons: Standard video sources are Awful, Video channel switching is too slow, Wish it was bigger
Review: 1: Standard video sources look as bad or worse than an old big-screen. (Even with S-video and HD composite cables) 2: Switching through video channels can be painfully slow. (In fact the entire channel switching process is disappointing) 3: It's ...

Pretty good but not perfect

by   amazer ,  Feb 6, 2007
Pros: Sony quality, sharp vivid picture
Cons: No great way to view normal TV image without distortion
The Bottom Line: Still a top choice, but be aware of picture display limitations
Review: Well, we finally bit the bullet and upgraded to flat panel from our old Mitsubishi 32" TV with the bulbous tube and a big pink spot in the upper corner. The Sony 40" fit in our cabinet with a half inch on either side to spare. Haven't been able to ...

It is better than the others - it's just that simple

by   gbeloin ,  Apr 2, 2007
Pros: Great picture, great sound, easy to use, multiple set-up options, multiple input methods.
Cons: More expensive than the others (like Samsung, Sharp, Toshiba). No Cable Card, no Picture-in-Picture.
The Bottom Line: I have already recommended this 40" LCD 1080p HDTV to everyone I know that doesn't have a wide-screen HDTV yet. It's about $200 more than the others, but worth it.
Review: I went to a number of different stores and actually looked at the TVs. The 1080p Sony Bravia KDL40V2500 appeared to have the same great image as their 40" XBR2 model, but at a significant savings ($400-$500 difference). Both of those Sony LCD HDTVs had ...

Too High Def Dependent

by   detroit010 ,  Dec 12, 2007
Pros: High Def Quality
Cons: Awful picture from non High Def sources
Review: Thank goodness the store took this TV back even though I had discarded the box. The only TV's I have owned are Sony, and this model is the first dud. Unless you are receiving High Definition on EVERY broadcast, the picture quality is awful. There is no ...
