Everybody's Super Sonic Racing, try and keep your feet right on the ground!

You take on the role of several members of the Sonic gang, including some you have to unlock through gameplay. race your way through some of Mobius' best raceways to collect the Chaos Emeralds first!
I got this game in a three-pack with Sonic CD and S&K Collection. It is okay, but could be better... many rough spots, and some good qualities you may enjoy. In this review my goal is to help you find if it is best for YOU.

Graphics= **
They're not even mediocre. It is a saturn game on PC, so give it a kind of break. But the polygonal textures they put into the game first are ugly, blurry, and visible. The flat backgrounds will distract during races, causing you to slip and maybe eventually lose!
Sonic and friends don't necessarily look BAD, but they don't look good either. There are good features of them in 3-D, but they look very blocky and squarish. The graphics also get kinda slow at times even on a new, fast computer and you see the characters running in slo-mo. it gets pretty annoying after a while.

Sound= ****
it's good enough, but a few kinks in it. The tunes are good, with female singers singing rocky tunes that you may memorize, but often have absolutely nothing to do with the game! The songs are often ahead of the other effects, like the jump sounds and ring sounds. Those effects tend to get slower than the graphics and visual quality.

Gameplay/Controls= ***
The gameplay will slow down on you a lot, and it takes a while for each button you look to be registered by the pc. The controls are different for each character but go something like this- a jump button, a speed-up button, and a special ability executed by either hitting the jump button twice in a row or by hitting the jump button for characters who can't jump.

Difficulty= *****
This game's best quality; what keeps it from being a 1 or 2 star. The CPU opponents know some tricks and can knock you off the track a lot; plus they're as fast as you (most of them). And you have to unlock certain characters by beating their stage WHILE getting the coin (which is out of your way in each course). Then you have to defeat that character in a race. Unlocked characters are: Robotnik, EggRobo, Mecha Sonic, Mecha Knuckles, and Super Sonic, who is unlocked once you have gotten all of the game's 7 Chaos Emeralds.
If you keep practicing, you will defeat the CPs consistently.

Overall, it's okay, and worthy of 3 stars, but barely. I am not happy with the slow-downs, but you can adjust to it. happy racing (if you get it)!
