A jogger's best friend

The diamond rio player is a must-have for an avid jogger. Throw away those walkman's or Portable CD players. This MP3 player is based on solid-state technology and thus has no moving parts. As a result, this
portable player (weighing only a few ounces) does not skip, but allows for the versatility of a CD player (Can fast-forward to the next song with one touch of a button)and digital CD-like sound.
With a $50 dollar rebate (expires soon) this Mp3 player was easily within this poor student's budget. As a avid jogger, this Mp3 player was made to accompany me on long runs. It has never skipped and performed wonderfully.
As with all new technology, it does have some drawbacks. The belt clip seems a little flimsy - and the player will fall off while jogging. The amount of internal memory is a significant drawback. The player comes with 32 MB of internal memory and holds approximately 10 CD quality MP3 files. You can upgrade to another 32 MB by purchasing a SmartMedia Flash card - however the upgrade is still rather pricy ($70-120 typically depending on where you look). The expectation is that the memory will become cheaper over time - but hey noone can predict the future.
Overall, the Diamond Rio 300 was one of the best purchases I've made. I do however recommend that if you have the money to purchase the better model - more memory.
