Monster Unleashed

Date of Review:  Jun 8, 2000
Review: This card is terrific. It's priced less than the Soundblaster Live and sounds better. I play games and mp3's using this card with my Cambridge FPS2000 speakers and they totally rock. People can't believe how it sounds. It supports four speakers and...

Review: The Diamond Monster Sound MX300 PCI is sweet, plain and simple. I can't imagine having sound on my computer without the Monster Sound card. Whether you use your computer for gaming, listening to music or surfing the net, I recommend this card. The...

Monster Sound, Monster Hassle

Date of Review:  May 19, 2000
Review: Monster Sound has great possibilities and is compatible with most computers, but not this one. Since it's installation, I've experienced continuous screen freezes, and drive crashes that require cold booting (turning your computer off and on).

Good sound card plagued by bad compatibility

Date of Review:  Apr 30, 2000
Review: The Diamond MX 300 is a good sound card, but is plagued by several bad compatibility issues. On my Windows 98 system, the sound would randomly freeze me on MPEG movies and the sound would inexplicably die on me in the middle of a game, or while I am...

Great sound, some incompatibility

Date of Review:  Nov 7, 2000
Review: I bought this card for a system I was building. I didn't have much money, but the store I worked at had an opened package, (customer didn't have PCI), and they sold it to me at a great discount.

Diamond Multimedia is probably #2 on my list...

Monster Silence?

Date of Review:  Mar 23, 2001
The Bottom Line: If you want to gamble, go ahead and get this card. If you want to be sure, I would suggest the Sound Blaster.
Review: I got this sound card because of a glowing review in PCGamer. I was also buying the best speakers I could so I could get the most out of this sound card. My old sound card wouldn't play two sounds at once, so I couldn't run some programs, such as...
