Soldier of fortune is the kind of game that only happens once in a lifetime, the graphics on this game are astronomical. You are a cop and terrorist have stolen a nuclear weapon, you job is level by level you must stop these criminals before its too late.
Graphics: Soldier of fortune uses open GL which is a very powerful graphics setting, when playing there are so many thing to do with graphic its amazing. First of all when you shoot some body not only do they bleed but there are may fall of or there intestines might fall out, a really blood thirsty game. Backgrounds are never reuses in different levels and the faces are textured to perfection, faces are never uses twice and every terrorist is different with his or hers own special feature, a scar, a tattoo or a certain kind of cloths. Graphics in games are not usually that detailed but in Soldier of fortune they are they are very detailed down to the last inch.
Sound: The Sound in this game is absolutely amazing, people cough when smoking, they scream in different tones when you shoot them in different places. The sound is one of the things that lets most games down but in soldier of fortune the sound quality is outstanding. Footsteps and other personal features are especially good and realistic footsteps sound as though theyre behind you or far away. Its amazing!
The Game: The game is set in all parts of the world starting in N.Y city and ending up in the streets of Arabia and Moscow, people are different according to what country you in. The violence in the game is breathtaking the number one feature of Soldier of fortune. For instance there are 26 different places on an terrorists body where a gun shot wound will be different, the arms, legs, torso, head, groin and back, each one with about three different effects of a gunshot wound. Shooting doors in the right place will cause them to open, just like in real life, most of the features in the game are so life like it makes you wonder how they do it so well and detailed. The animated violence is one of the best violence in gaming history ranging for exploding heads, intestines sloshing out of a hole in the body to even swearing, crime and damage of government property.
The weapons. The weapons in the game also vary from knifes witch do very powerful close up damage to grenade, rocket launches, Uzi, shotguns and sniper riffles. The best weapon for close combat world have to be the shot gun taking out limbs at a time this weapon has proved it self to one hell of a gun. For long range the sniper riffle if the one for you, zooming in on enemies couldnt be more fun. Blowing of legs and taking out helicopter pilots this weapon is definitely the best one of all.
Soldier of fortune is definitely one of the best games every developed.
