Snap sights good where you don't need/rather not use a supermegapixel

I recently went to Hawaii for vacation and my family fell in love snorkeling. We needed a camera that could allow us to have memories of our trip together - really didn't need a 1000megapixel camera, just something we could glance back later at.

I already have a digital camera, but waterproof cases cost an excess of $100 and are somewhat hard to find depending on the model. There's also this other thing of someone losing the camera, which does have a high chance in some of the hawaiian waters. So enter the Snap Sights Waterproof camera.

There are several models with similar features. The version I purchased included a viewfinder, flash and film. The camera battery and film are refillable. This camera is a fixed focus, so I had to take that into considering as the slow sea turtle was approaching me. The camera has a restraint to put around your wrist.

I felt the flash was needed for many shots underwater, which most disposable underwater cameras do not include. The operation is simple as rewind the film (it's no digital!) and shoot. There a flipable exterior cross hairs if needed. The flash takes a few seconds to recharge between shot and when's it's ready, a red indicator light glows.

The quality was good when the shots were in the focus range of 2-4 meters underwater. I felt my family typically had a good to bad focus ratio of 5:1. One problem with the flash is it tends dull shots if the target is closer than 1 meter. One tip not related to the camera is to get the film developed on the Island. Photo shops on the island are more accustomed to developing watershots than mainland.

The battery lasted the entire trip (2 weeks) with daily use. I took a couple ground shots and the quality was simiar to a disposable.

The camera supposed waterproof to 95ft - sadly, I cannot confirm the validity.
