Infantino SlingRider needs improvement---some models now recalled!

Although the Infantino SlingRider is marketed as being usable up to 20lbs, I have found that it really is more like up to 12lbs or 3 months. The product was very good when my daughter was a newborn as it held her snug and close to the body which was soothing for her. It also allowed for hands free carrying, and allowed me to get a lot of other chores done. She would often fall asleep in it as it shielded her eyes from the light and was cozy. However, now that she is 3 months, she really has no interest in being in it as she cannot see anything. That, and it seems that now that she is bigger that it holds her in quite an awkward position. Unlike other reviews, I really don't think it was too uncomfortable to wear, but I guess that would all depend on how big your baby is anyway. A few things I did not like about it were that the sling does not hold firm to the body. There should be an extra strap to hold it against your body since if you lean forward, the baby swings forward as well which doesn't feel all that safe. Also, although I like the way the safety straps are setup, they should be adjustable as your baby gets longer, but they are not. Overall, it is a worthwhile product for small babies and newborns until they are big enough to be carried around in a front carrier.

***UPDATE: On 03/28 Infantino posted a recall on all versions of this slingrider that were made in China due to the plastic adjuster breaking and dropping baby. This never happened to me, but I definitely will be sending mine back. Go to this website for more info: http://service.infantino.com/
