Six Feet Under not soon to go belly up.
Pros:
Wonderful odd(in a good way) plot line, cast is full of personality, Uncensored
Cons:
May be too graphic for some, maybe difficult understand if starting from the middle
The Bottom Line:
A wicked good series with enough dark humor to fill a casket. Ensemble cast work well together to make the characters and situations believable.

Author's Review
The creator of the movie "American Beauty" Takes his talent to the 'small screen'. In fact it's anything but small, it's like watching a mini-movie every week, I look forward to it and as the season finale nears I'm really excited, but sad to see the new episodes end for now.
The Basics
WHAT: A new one hour drama on HBO featuring the lives of an odd ball dysfunctional LA family, who are in the funeral home business.
CAST: Peter Krause, Michael C. Hall, Frances Conroy, Richard Jenkins, Lauren Ambrose, Rachel Griffiths, Freddy Rodriguez, Michael St. Patrick and Jeremy Sisto
WHEN / WHERE: Sunday at 10 p.m., HBO
RATING: TV-MA (mature audiences)
Twisted yet believable plot line make this story one worth watching. Seeing the characters develop is rewarding, as you feel like you're getting to know them as the story goes on. This series deals with death, but not in the typical TV manner. Rather than being about the people who die, it's about the people who live, and deaths effect on it's survivors.
The story revolves around the Fishers, a family who own, run and live in a funeral home.
The story doesn't really have a 'main' character in my opinion, but if there were to be one, it would be Nate.
Nate - The oldest of three children in the Fisher family. When he was growing up(in the funeral home) he could never stand death or dead bodies. He left the home at age 16, but due to his father's death, has returned home and decided to stay and help keep the business from going belly up.
Ruth - Ruth the mother of the family is a control freak. She has to come to terms with her husbands death, and the fact that she cheated on him while he was still alive.
David - Nate's younger brother David runs the Funeral home, though it seems that he'd rather not. Tense and conventional, he seems out of place most of the time, and hides the fact that he's gay.
Clair - The youngest Fisher child, still a teenager. She's labeled a freak at school, her rebellious behavior and the fact that she drives an old hearse to High School make her even more of a misfit
Aside from the Fisher family, there are a great deal of characters. From the evil "Croner" funeral home director, which wants to run the Fishers out of buisness, to Nate's brilliant, and thoroughly odd(but in a likable way) Girlfriend Brenda, and her insane brother Billie.
While at first I didn't know what to make of this series, the more I watch it, the more hooked I become. If you get a chance to get into it, try to start from the beginning and give it awhile to grow on you, if you don't like it that's fine, but if you do you'll have an enjoyable series to keep coming back to.
Additional Notes
This series is for the mature and the non-squeamish. As I've mentioned, it's TV-MA. This is something you'll want to put your kids to bed for. Since it's on HBO, the language isn't curbed...but actually, it's used pretty tastefully, no where near the Sopranos(I recommend that too!) level of language or violence for that matter. There is also nudity in a couple of episodes, but for HBO it's pretty mild.
