Author's Review
I bought the CE 100 and had it about 3 days, and for 3 days I did nothing but cuss and swear, I was so irritated that I was making up my own new words!! Maybe I got a bum machine but from other reviews I read AFTER I bought this one, I'm thinking it's all of them, so I did exchange it and upgrade to the CE200. First off, I have been sewing for over 15 years so I feel I am not a novice at this and also am pretty good at the computer, however, on this machine, the bobbin thread will not pick up, it will not lock a stitch in and when you try to embroidery,it goes about two stitches and then the top thread breaks, I have read that the bobbin case on these machines tend to crack and I'm thinking that must be what was wrong with this one, I worked with it for a long 3 days and watched the DVD and read the book over and over but could not figure it out. I have always loved my original Singer so I thought this would be good since I wanted to test the waters in embroidery, all I can say is save your money and don't buy the CE 100, if your looking to get a embroidery machine spend the extra 200 bucks and get the Singer Ce200, the 100 is the old version and it shows, the 200 has a much 'beefier' bobbin casing and also includes 'auto punch' which is a fun program to work with! Also the 200 has more stitches, not any more fonts, but you can get the program for that ($150) Also I would suggest buying from a dealer so that you can bring it back and take any classes that they offer, as it can be a little frustrating at first, but once you get the hang of it... it is addictive!!!
