This Season Six special edition DVD box set is a must have for any Simpsons fan! First of all, there are twenty five episodes on this season, all of the uncut. Secondly, the special features are a blast as we have so many choices this time around. On Season Six, we get to watch as Bart is injured from a swimming pool related incident and is stuck in his room when he uses Lisa's telescope to see Flanders supposedly murdering his wife! Also we're treated to see how Maggie came to be in the Simpsons family in a lovely back story that shows Homer and Marge and toddler Lisa and little Bart as a happy family after Homer quits his job at the Power Plant to work in a bowling alley. After he finds out Marge is pregnant again, he goes nuts and has to get his job back at the Power Plant, but when he sees baby Maggie, his heart melts and he is instantly smitten with her. In Season Six, we're also witnesses in a crime so brutal, it has to be broken down in two thirty minute episodes! We see Mr. Burns get shot by an unknown assailant after Burns places a dome in front of the sun, charging people for sunlight. The special features on this four disc special edition DVD box set include optional commentary for all twenty five episodes, an introduction from series creator Matt Groening, animatics, illustrated commentaries (in which the artists and Matt Groening draw doodles on the screen as they talk), deleted scenes with optional commentary, a sketch gallery for the 'Who Shot Mr. Burns?' episode, commercials, a TV special, a featurette, and an introduction from James L. Brooks. All in all, this season is a great collectible and an excellent addition to any DVD collection!
