Author's Review
Ahhh the Simpsons my favorite T.V. show in the world I have loved it when I first saw it and I continue to love it. To be fair the sixth and the fourth season are probably my favorite seasons but if I had to go with one I would make it the sixth season. Season six contains a lot of my favorite episodes and most of them are very funny.
Episodes:
Bart of darkness
Plot: It is summer and Bart and Lisa have Homer to buy a pool. When they obtain the pool they instantly become very popular, then Bart breaks his leg and isolates him in his room. He thinks he sees Flanders murder his wife, it is up to Lisa and Bart to find the truth.
Overall: this is a great episode that perfectly starts off the sixth season, it offers us many laughs and fun quotes.
Rating: 10/10
Lisas Rival
Plot: Lisa thinks she is the smartest kid in the school, then one day a girl named Allison comes in her class. She is a genius and is better at everything than Lisa. Lisa wants to be friends but wants to be smart so she sabotages Allisons diorama.
Overall: This episode did a good job of showing Lisas personality, she is nice but wants to be the best.
Rating 10/10
Another Simpsons clip show
Plot: In another Simpsons clip show Marge thinks that love is gone and wants to get examples from her family. In this clip show we see various instances where Bart, Lisa, Marge, and Homer have been in love with some one.
Overall: usually Simpsons clip shows are not that funny, this still holds true although I do think this episode is well done.
Rating 8/10
Itchy and Scratchy land
Plot: Bart and Lisa see a commercial for Itchy and Scratchy land and make Homer and Marge take them. When they get their all hell breaks lose as Bart and Homer get arrested and the robots turn evil.
Overall: this is a very funny episode that has some funny parodies. The Bort license plate scenario is priceless.
Rating 10/10
Sideshow Bob Roberts
Plot: Another entry in the Sideshow Bob series, this time Bob gets out of prison and runs for mayor. He tricks the people in Springfield to vote for him and he eventually wins. It is up to Bart and Lisa to stop him.
Overall: As a sideshow Bob episode this did seem to be lacking in laughs but the political humor is very good. Bob did not seem to be trying to kill Bart as much.
Rating: 9/9
Tree house of Horror V
Plot: The fist part is a parody of the Shinning (Opps I mean the shining) Homer goes crazy with no beer and T.V. and tries to kill his family up in the woods. The second part has Homer fixing a toaster when he accidentally travels back in time. The last part has the cafeteria killing kids to make the food.
Overall: this is in my opinion the best batch of Tree house of horror episodes ever. They are all flat out hilarious and have ton of laughs.
Rating: 10/10
Barts girlfriend
Plot: After going to a Sunday school service Bart sees Reverend LoveJoys daughter. He tries to impress her but he finds out that she wants him to be bad; they go out and commit lots of minor crimes.
Overall: I thought it was interesting to see Bart trying to act nice and good, when he really is not.
Rating: 10/10
Lisa on Ice
Plot: Lisa is failing P.E. and needs to try an outside sport so she wont fail. After failing in the sports she tries she sees that she is a naturally great hockey goalie. She is a huge success on Apus team The Gougers Bart is on the Pigs and they end up facing each other in the last match.

Overall: this is where the Simpsons really shine in all their glory as they have a great premise and have many laughs.]
Rating: 10/10
Grandpa vs. Sexual inadequacy
Plot: Homer and Marges love life have gone sour, they try everything but nothing works. One day when Homer visits Grandpa and he has a potion that gets their sex life back on track. They go and sell the product, and all of the parents are no longer around. Bart gets obsessed with U.F.O.s and thinks they may have something to do with it.
Overall: this is a very funny episode that has some great moments where some minor characters really shine.
Rating: 10/10
Fear of flying
Plot: Homer gets free airline tickets after putting peoples lives in danger. They get on the plane when they find that Marge has a fear of flying. They take her to a psychoanalyst and get her cured.

Rating: 10/10
Homer the great
Plot: Homer witnesses Lennie and Carl acting different, he wants to know what is happening so he stalks them. He follows them to a secret society called the Stonecutters. After getting caught in there, he wants to join; when he does he sees it as the greatest thing in the world. One day he brings shame on the society and they see the Mark. He is a god and is the new leader.
Overall: in my opinion this is season sixes finest moment where Homer is viewed as a god. The incorrect take on history works very well in this not to mention one of the best songs ever sung.
Rating: 10/10
And Maggie makes three
Plot: It is another trip down memory lane and we see how Maggie came to be in the family. It all started with Homer quitting his job and getting his dream job, he takes Marge out and Maggie is the result. Things go perfect for Homer until he finds out about the pregnancy.

Homer vs. Patty and Selma
Plot: Homer yet again makes a scheme to make money except that it has back fired. He goes home that night to see Patty and Selma degrading and making him sound like an idiot, he throws them out and makes sure to raise some money to make up to what he lost. Barts school is having a sports day where he must choose a sport; he gets the last one which happens to be ballet. Amazingly he is naturally gifted at it and becomes a success while hiding his face in a mask.
Overall: this was a good episode that had great moments where Homer had to make money and ultimately coming in for Marge at the end.
Rating: 10/10
A star is Burns
Plot: In order to attract more tourists Marge purposes the idea of a film festival and has participants. Homer nags Marge to let him on the jury so she lets him. When the festival comes it is a close race between Monty Burns overproduced Hollywood film and Barney Gumbles sad and well done film about being an alcoholic. Homers vote makes it a tie as he votes for the stupidest one: Man getting hit in the groin.
Overall: Once again Homer has to make a choice between a piece of art and a completely dumb film. I enjoyed the end where Burns tries to win an academy.
Rating: 10/10
Lisas wedding
Plot: The Simpsons attend a renascence fair and Lisa wanders into a fourteen teller who gives her future. Lisas future is her going to collage and meeting the man of her dreams. The man is Hugh Parkfield and they get married. Of course Hugh has to meet Lisas parents which is a total utter disaster.

Overall: in this 101 Dalmatians type episode we see Mr. Burns wanting to make coats. The musical number that makes fun of the Beauty and Beast. Too bad it lacks some laughs.

Overall this is my favorite collection of Simpsons to date. I think it contains some very memorable episodes with very few to none below average episodes. This season did a great job of showing each characters personalities. All the episodes are good so what are you waiting for if you dont all ready own this? I recommend this to fans of the show as well as anyone who likes a good animated comedy show.
