The Bottom Line: I'm disappointed with the obvious bias toward action/adventure and special affects suggested by these categories. No. Sideways is not your typical movie but it's still great!
Review: When a reviewer of a movie starts wailing at the wall and then falls on his knees and opens his arms as if in praises to the Christian God and sings out the Ohm chant at the top of his lungs and then falls forward as if praying toward Mecca, I think...

A multi-dimensional film. The best this year?

The Bottom Line: A definite must-see. There's a reason why the film is on everyone's "A List". Expect that it's impact will grow on you for days after you've seen it.
Review: Is this the best film of the year? Probably not. Is this the best one I've seen so far? Most certainly; and I look forward to "The Aviator", "Hotel Rwanda" and "Million Dollar Baby" to displace it in the next couple of weeks.

Tastes Pretty Good To Me: Alexander Payne's Sideways

A really atrocious movie

The Bottom Line: It is a truly repulsive movie. It has no redeeming value whatsoever.
Review: My wife were house sitting for a weekend. The house had a DVD player and a halfway decent television.

So we had to get a DVD from Walmart which was about 15 miles away. I didn't see a Blockbuster nearby.
