Lauded by Professional Makeup Artists, Not Too Shabby Curler

Excellent References: I first found out about Shu Uemura's Eyelash Curler when my makeup artist friend asked me to read Keyvn Aucoin's Making Faces. He was a talented make up artist who swore by Shu Uemura's eyelash curler. Allure, the make up magazine also showered this eyelash curler with praises.

The Good:
I noticed from the first time I used it that this eyelash curler grabbed more of my eyelashes than my older Revlon eyelash curler. It curled my eyelashes and the curls STAYED!!! The mushroom shaped silicone pad provides a stay-put edge for amazing curls. No wonder this product is a cult classic adored by legions of celebrities.

The Comparison:
I have this, Revlon's eyelash curler and the eyelash curler from E.L.F. (eyes, lips, face). I like the curls created by Shu Uemura the best but I am not sure if I can wholeheartedly ask you, my dear reader to pay the extra $ for it. E.L.F. eyelash curler is only $1 whereas this eyelash curler is $19. I do believe you get what you pay for though and for some people, that extra bit of oomph in their lashes is worth the extra cost. Since eyelash curlers can last for a few years with proper care.

Eyelash Curl Maintenance: Always clean with a damp cloth after each use. In addition, change the silicone pad should be 6 months of use (a replacement pad is included in the box).

Directions for Use:
- Open the curler by spreading the handles and center your upper lashes between the top and bottom (rubber) section of the curler
- Position the curler at the base of the lash line and gently squeeze handles. Hold for several seconds
- Curl the lashes in an upward and outward direction starting from the base working towards the tips of the lashes
- Use the curler before applying shu uemura mascara to prevent damage

The Bad:
None that I can think of if $19 is not too steep a price for you to have eyes that open up.

The Bottom Line:
Everybody who likes make up needs a trusty eyelash curler they can turn to in a pinch. Shu Uemura's is excellent. As make up books always state, please curl your eyelashes BEFORE you put on the mascara!
