Actually the VL-E700U

This particular model was a perfect choice for us when our daughter was born. We wanted to capture all of her life's moments but with a small, handheld camcorder that didn't need us peeping through a tiny view-hole.
The 700U has 16X power zoom, which doesn't seem like much until you try it. It has a larger than most view-screen, 3 1/4" x 2 1/2" actual viewing area. It is very easy to use with a combination zoom and volume feature (volume for when reviewing your tape).
The best feature is the easy plug-in for the VCR for reviewing on the television, or for transferring. I also use my camcorder for eBay auctions. You would need a video board for this, and you simply plug the camcorder into your computer and voila! Pictures on your computer ready for the internet.

The graphic quality is great with this camcorder. It has a backlit button for those terrible lighting problems and has the tremble or shake reducer for better picture quality.

Overall, a great buy, with no problems whatsoever. It has been dropped repeatedly, lost in the sand on vacation, and drooled on by our great dane. No problems at all!
