Great AC and Quiet

The Bottom Line: Highly recommend to anyone. Unit very quiet, efficient, easy to maintain.
Since my main central AC could not cool efficiently the bedroom loft in my condo, I decided the best to do was to purchase a portable AC unit. I could not install a window unit do to condo restrictions about spoiling the look of the building.
I read other folk's opinions on this unit and was sold on getting the Sharp due mostly to all the accounts about how quiet the unit is, especially in the bedroom.
Well, the unit arrived and it was quite easy to install. I have rather large sliding windows (5 1/2 feet slides) and the kit that comes with the unit can only install up to 4 feet (48") which I knew all ready. So, I had to have made from a local sheet metal shop (white coated aluminum) an insert to fit my window with the cutout made exactly as the kit that comes with the unit. Really was easier than I am making it. The plastic kit is sort of flimsy though and does not provide too much security.
I was extremely pleased from the moment I ran the unit not only how nice and cool the room is now, but how very, very quiet the unit is. I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone. By the way, my 1 bedroom condo (668 sqft) is cooled by this unit to the point it shuts off the main unit which is barely cools the place. I think it is great and efficient as well. Can't say enough about this great unit.
It does everything it says it is supposed to and very easy to operate.
