Bit the bullet...

After using Sharp convection/microwave ovens for over 20 years I decided to buy one for myself. I stuck with Sharp because of their familiarity...they are all practically the same in programming and functions. I won't go into all the boring details in describing all the features of this oven...that has been well covered by other reviews and on Sharp.com website. I don't come here looking for all that info...I just want to know how the ownership experience has been, repair history, resolutions etc. I don't expect some advisor to give this epinion glowing reviews. I'm posting it so it will be here for me to update as time passes. I received my oven from Home Depot on Feb. 7, 2008...so it's brand new. I don't use it to replace my conventional range oven...it's a supplemental oven to free up counterspace by not having a separate microwave and toaster oven. So far, I love it. I'll probably add an extended warranty before the manufacturer's warranty expires just to be safe.
I've read other users of this brand and other brands of convection/microwaves with stainless interiors having problems cleaning baked on food from the interior of the oven. I have always used fume free easy off or its equivalent. Follow all the directions...just BE CAREFUL to NOT spray it into any of the vents or holes inside the oven...it has worked for 20 years without any problems whatsoever and the oven looks brand new.

Update August 13,2008....I've had the oven for six months now. I have noticed the temperature is about 25 degrees cooler than the display shows...not really a problem for me because most things that require 400 degrees and above I cook in my larger gas oven. As I said, I didn't buy this to use as my primary oven. I haven't had any cleaning issues either. My roommate has a tendency to leave food uncovered and it splatters inside...if I don't notice it, it will become baked on...but as I said above, a little fume free oven cleaner and follow directions and being careful not to get it into the holes and it sparkles like new.

Update Feb 6, 2009...I've had this for about a year now and not a single issue.  Convection works just fine, microwave works without a hitch.  No cleaning issues either...you just have to know how to handle the job.
