Disposable Microwave/Convection Oven

My first convection oven. I was happy with my purchase. It was good while it lasted!

The Pros: It was a luxury to have a 'spare oven' when I didn't want to heat up the large range, or to cook a dish when the big oven was already in use during the big family meals and entertaining. It saves valuable counter space over having both a microwave AND a broiler or convection oven.

The Cons: It was very hard to figure out how to set it to cook anything other than menu items which were printed on the unit. It could not make microwave popcorn well at all. The instruction manual wasn't very clear, either. The turntable carousel turns continually - at least it did for just over a year (the warranty length - imagine that!) and after using it many times to cook convection style the turntable began to make noise and act up, then quit totally. I suspect it may have burned out prematurely from the exposure to heat during convection cooking. According to the website sharp-usa.com, there's not an authorized repair person within 50 mile of us here in the Greater Portland Maine area. I suspect that replacing the turntable's motor will cost about as much as purchasing a new oven. My next purchase will be another brand and microwave only.
