~~TAKES A WHOOPIN AND KEEPS ON COOKIN~~

There was not a category for this exact model of a SHARP MIDSIZE MICROWAVE, so I hope that it is ok to put it here. I am sure that my experience with this particular model goes to tell that all SHARP microwaves are of good quality. My model is R-3A96.

My mother bought me this microwave three years ago for Christmas. Being a single working mother of three children, I don't always have the time to cook a typical meal. Besides that, my children would rather just "NUK" something in the microwave any way.

I use my microwave for everything, actually more than I use my stove. Though I do love to cook, my work schedule doesn't always allow time for it. All three of my children can work this with ease. (Ages, 13, 10 and 9) The following is a list of the functions, and brief descriptions of their use:

EXPRESS DEFROST
This is very convenient, with just the push of a button, you have your frozen food ready for defrost. Each push of the button, thaws a 1/2 lb. of food. So if you are thawing 2 lb, just push the express defrost button 4 times, and there is no need to push start, it will start automatically.

MINUTE PLUS
This button is the one most frequently used in my home. Just push for each minute of cooking time you need, and again this function will start automatically.

POPCORN
This is used for your microwave popcorn. Just pop the bag in, push this button, and presto, it starts on its own, and when finished, you have a bag of perfectly popped corn.

BEVERAGE
Used to heat up water for hot chocolate, hot tea, or what ever other beverage you desire. Heats it just right, not too hot, not too cold, just right. If you want to heat up more than one cup at a time, just push it once for each cup.

BAKED POTATO
MMMMM, the perfect baked potato. Just poke a couple holes in your potato,to prevent it from exploding, and just pop it in, and push this button, and get a perfect potato every time. For rather large potatoes, you may need to push the button twice, as with more than one potato.

DINNER PLATE
Hubby not home in time for dinner? Just put his plate in fridge till he gets home, and he can just pop it in, hit one button, and wham instant hot meal.

FRESH VEGETABLE
Just put in a cup of your favorite fresh veggie, and before you know it, you have a healthy, tender veggie that melts in your mouth.

ROLL,MUFFIN
Do you like you dinner roll, or breakfast muffin hot to melt the butter? Well this is the function for you. Just pop on in, and out comes a pippin' hot roll or muffin.

Then of course you have a number pad, 0-9, for the longer cooking, or if only seconds are needed. Your stop and clear button, to stop and check food during cooking, and to clear remaining time once done. Then there is also the auto start/clock function to automatically start the microwave, and to set clock, the start button, and also a power level function to control the cooking of such things as frozen foods.

This microwave, is very stylish, and fits nicely on counter top. I love the turn table, it allows for even distribution of heat during cooking time, meaning there is not need to stop and manually rotate.

This microwave has been through a lot. It is used at least 20 times a day. About a year ago, I thought I was going to have to buy another one.
I had taken a pack of hamburger out of the freezer in which was wrapped in foil. I took the foil off, and put it on a plate and put it in the microwave to defrost. About 2 minutes later, my daughter Liberty, came in the living room screaming that the microwave was on fire. I immediately turned the power source off, and opened the microwave, and put the fire out with a box of baking soda. Upon inspection of the meat, I found that a small piece of foil had stuck to the underside of it, and that is what caused the fire. Like I said, I thought that I was going to have to buy a new one, but to my surprise, when I cleaned it up, and tried it just to make sure, it actually worked just as good as before!
I would recommend any SHARP microwave to anyone.
