Last year for my husband's birthday I knew that he really wanted a HD TV to play his XBOX games on. On older TVs that do not have HD the HD games do not come in very clear and are sometimes hard to read the words on. And he ended up not being able to play some of the games.
When my dad came to me asking about Birthday ideas for my husband I asked him if he'd go in with me on a LCD TV. He said yes and so did my grandmother. Split three ways this wasnt going to be too costly after all.
Next we had to figure out what brand we wanted. My dad is a big fan of the store Costco, which is where here had boughten his own LCD TVs. He started pricing them out and asking what size I was interested in. At the time the TV was only going to put into my husband's small video game room so it didnt need to be that big. We came up with getting a 32 inch.
After a few trips to Costco and I myself looking around at other stores my Dad called me about this Sharp Aquos TV that they had just gotten in. He said it wasnt the cheepest brand but it had the Sharp name on it and it was very nicely priced. It was $599.
So we speed up to my birthday when he has to set the TV as soon as he sees it. And after that TV spends only about six months in his video game room before it becomes the favorite TV in the house.
My husband loves the TV so much that he ended up making it the main TV in our living room. It is a smaller TV then we are used to but the picture is so great that it really doesnt matter. My husband even ended up turning is video game room into a guestroom and moved his XBOX into the living room.
One of my favorite things about the TV is how the inputs work. We have a xbox, wii and dvd played pluged into the imputs (and there is still more imputs). And on each input the TV saves the sound and picture settings for that input. Say we are playing the Wii at low volume and in zoom and we switch to watching a DVD and then go back to the Wii will still have that setting.
Over all this is the best TV we have owned. The sound is great, the picture is great and we havent had any problems with it.
