Author's Review
I bought this television to hang on my bedroom wall. I have owned two sony lcd televisions previously. This Sharp is a great alternative to the higher priced Sony models. I picked this one up for about $720. I was a little weary about going with something other than what I already had as far as brands go, but I bit the bullet and tried Sharp. I was not disappointed. The only negatives I can find with it, is that the analog signaled channels don't look quite as good as the Sony models do. But that really shouldn't be a big deal. Afterall, this is an HDTV. Another negative, is that when switching between channels, it tends to be a little slower than I'd like, but that, I've gotten used to. The last negative is that the remote control is rather larger and awkward. The remote control is probably the least favorite thing I've found with this tv, plus you have to push a button to get the buttons to illuminate in the dark, but heck what if you can't find the button. The tv is very sturdy & solid. The picture looks much better than the others in this same size. The only other one that I would consider a similiar comparison overall, the Sony, but like I said before, quite a bit cheaper if you go Sharp. Overall, very good tv, great deal, well worth what you pay for. Great features, easy to use menus. Very simple for even the not so tech savvy person.
