by   Horswispr , top reviewer in Electronics at Epinions.com ,  Nov 5, 2008
Pros: excellent sound; really comfortable; look nice; relatively inexpensive
Cons: will the plastic hold up long-term? is the bass shelved down?
The Bottom Line:

I recommend these headphones without reservation. They are comfortable, provide good isolation, and sound great.

Review: A friend recently invited me into the studio to record some guitar tracks for an Irish music project he was working on. I grabbed my Larrivee LS-05 acoustic guitar and played three tunes for the project, and then did some over-dubs, playing over guitar ...

Sennheiser HD280Pro: A Dollar-for-Dollar Headphone Champ?

by   symbiosis , top reviewer in Electronics at Epinions.com ,  Jun 8, 2006
Pros: Excellent sound quality, construction, and comfort. Price. Noise blocking.
Cons: Slightly quirky appearance, ear cups can get a bit warm with extended use.
The Bottom Line: See Overall Below.
Review: Over the past few years, I have tried out (and reviewed) many sets of headphones from many different manufacturers. I have also tried a wire variety of styles and price ranges, from the $20 terrible sounding glorified earplug that is the Koss Spark ...

Great closed headphones for the price!

by   LetItRut ,  Jun 10, 2002
Pros: Accurate sound, versatile swiveling/folding feature
Cons: Not as "detailed" or "airy" as higher-priced headphones
The Bottom Line: If you're looking for a mid-priced pair of closed headphones for both studio monitoring and DJ use, you can't go wrong with the Sennheiser HD 280 Pro.
Review: I've tried various closed-back full-size headphones that cost up to $200 from mass-market brands such as Sony, and I was almost universally disappointed in them. So I went to a Virgin Megastore and plopped down $99.95 plus tax for a pair of Sennheiser HD...

Cons: Sealed headphones sound worse than open.
The Bottom Line: Great headphones for anyone who requires noise isolation and great quality.
Review: These are my first dive into the world of hi-fi audio, and let me tell you, what a dive it was. The difference between these (or any quality headphones, I would imagine) and the stock ones bundled with PDCP's is amazing. I strongly recommend to...

Good Sound in a Padded Room (Burn-in period required)

by   FargoUT ,  Sep 16, 2004

Cons: Style, reveals flaws in source recording, pressure from headphones is rather heavy
The Bottom Line: Excellent sound reproduction with a sealed headphone; beautiful flat response with little coloration; low cost for superb quality
Review: Being a lover of good sound, I've become a headphone junkie after quickly discovering the high quality produced by high-end headphones. No longer can speakers satiate my desire for music. Working in a cube farm with managers kind enough to allow ...
