Best of the best

This is the one. The headphone that defines headphone listening. Built of the finest materials and utilizing the most current technologies these headphones not only sound the best but look and feel the best. The detail is very good, the mids liquid and the bass as tight and defined as I've ever heard. Separation of instruments and balance in sound is A-1. I use them with a HeadRoom Max and the sound is unrivaled. Well,OK the Orpheus is better but is also 8x the cash of the Max/600 combo.
Because they are 300 ohms and not particularly efficient an amp is highly recommended. The 600's are very revealing of poor sources and/or weak outputs. Portable use without an amp is definitely out. Their 10 foot cable is very handy for home listening and adding a 10-15 ft extension does very little to degrade the sound. It is terminated with a mini plug and a 1/4 inch adapter is supplied. And to top it off it comes in a nice box for storage.
The open design used on the 600's is a drawback in a noisy environment. Not recommended for use on subways and airplanes! In a quiet room though, you are in for a real treat.
Sennheiser has fixed the intermittent problem in the ear piece so reliability is now very good. Construction is sturdy and sure. The headphone ear pieces are adjustable for fit and have a velour like soft padding for ultimate comfort.
A must for the Audiophile listener!!!
