Rooby Roo and Raggy, too! Scooby Doo

Date of Review:  Jun 15, 2002
The Bottom Line: If the kids really want to see this, go ahead and take them. You'll probably enjoy it more than you thought you would, I did.
Review: Why?

I like Scooby in and of himself. I've never been a huge fan of the cartoon myself, but my kid is. He's been harping on seeing Scooby Doo ever since he first saw a preview on TV. Going by the previews, I was sure I'd hate this movie...

Scooby-Doo, A Raja Gosnell Film: Tremble In Fear

Date of Review:  Oct 21, 2002
The Bottom Line: I liked Scooby-Doo. But I don't anymore. Damn you James Gunn and Raja Gosnell.
Review: Granted that Scrappy-Doo was clearly the "Cousin Oliver" of the Scooby Gang, but why would anybody blame him for any of the problems with the TV show? It's not like Scrappy had any part of either Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? or The Scooby-Doo Show,...

Scooby and Shaggy -High Times

Date of Review:  Jun 24, 2002
The Bottom Line: The plot is very simple. Every single laugh comes from Shaggy and Scooby.
Review: I have to say this movie is better than I expected. I have been watching Scooby-Doo since my kids were young and I?m still watching with my grandson. I always enjoyed the cartoon but could never imagine a major motion picture being made with the...

Let's Unmask the Villain: It's the Director, Producer, Screenwriter, and Actors!

Date of Review:  Jun 15, 2002
The Bottom Line: Worse acting and storyline than the cheesiest made-for TV loser flick. Total waste of time and money.
Review: Try as I might, I cannot recall ever having seen a movie as truly bad as the new Scooby Doo movie that was released yesterday. The story is lame and unbelievable, the characterizations are weak and badly hacked, the actors are all justly no-name...

Let your silly childhood nostalgia slumber unmolested.

Date of Review:  Jun 25, 2002
The Bottom Line: When a film is created SOLELY because it's a marketable product, soulless and ugly-looking movies like Scooby-Doo are the result.
Review: Sigh. Here we go again. Well-remembered cartoon gets the big-budget silver screen treatment. Not because the source material screams for a revisit, but because rehashing a name product is infinitely more profitable than creating something new. I'm...

Scooby Doo and the Mystery of Spooky Island

Date of Review:  Jul 7, 2002
The Bottom Line: Sccoby Doo will make you laugh till you start splitting at the seams, if you don't then you shouldn't have seen it in the first place.
Review: Scooby Doo

Scooby Doo is just one of those movies that is SO stupid, it is hilarious. If you have EVER enjoyed the cartoon series you will like the movie. If you never really...

Scooby Don't

Date of Review:  Jul 27, 2002
The Bottom Line: Another TV series lost on the big screen.
Review: I get the feeling Hollywood won?t be happy until the day they have desecrated every pleasant childhood memory of mine. Translating TV classics to the movies does, on occasion, succeed, such as ?George Of The Jungle.? In most cases, however, like the...

Scooby Doo - The Movie - Fun for Kids and Grown Ups Too!

Date of Review:  Jun 18, 2002
The Bottom Line: Scooby Doo is a fun summer flick. My boys (ages 9 and 12) loved it, and I had fun at this movie too.
Review: Grab a pack of Scooby snacks or, at least, a refillable tub of popcorn with loads of butter. Scooby Doo (the movie) is on the big screen, and this is one you won?t mind taking the kids to. Heck, after Pokemon, anything would look good. But, the...

Scooby-Doo Run Run Away From This Movie!

Date of Review:  Dec 28, 2002
The Bottom Line: Do not do the Doo.
Review: I find myself reminded of one of the most famous scenes in Mel Brooks's classic comedy "Young Frankenstein". The scene I am referring to is the one where Dr. Frederick Frankenstein has just returned to his late Grandfather's castle. He doesn't want...

Scooby-Doo -- I'm Not Cleaning That Up!

Date of Review:  Jun 8, 2002
The Bottom Line: Thought you enjoyed the cartoon, see if you like Scooby after you watch his movie...
Review:

Starting out as a cartoon, Scooby-Doo has also been made into numerous different movies. His newest movie, simply titled Scooby-Doo, is a child attracter. The Scooby-Doo fans will come out of their caves to watch this one, but should they?...
