Don't expect Super Mario Sunshine here.

The Bottom Line: I hated this cartoon as a kid, but the game is a tad above-average.
I don't remember being a big fan of this cartoon as a kid, so it should'nt be too suprising that I was'nt really looking forward to playing this. But, because there was'nt much else to play on the game-starved GameCube, I figured I'd give it a try. You start the game with Scoob and the gang cruising along in the Mystery Machine to go off and solve another mystery. Of course, that means you'll be exploring haunted houses and stuff. Shaggy and Scooby chicken out and wait outside. Shaggy spots a box of Scooby Snacks and finds out the hard way its really a trap. So that means you take control of Scooby-Doo and must look for the rest of the gang. The characters are voiced by the original actors (from the cartoon, not the movie) and there is a laugh track. As you contol Scooby, you must collect Scooby Snacks to open up locked doors later on. Your movement is kinda restricted, so its not a Mario 64 clone. Younger gamers will love this game, but for older gamers its take it or leave it. I would leave it though.
Graphics: Nothing too impressive. (7)
Sound: The classic theme song from the cartoon is here, and it is quite catchy. There is a laugh track for when something zany happens on-screen, usually when Scooby and Shaggy are together. (8)
Control: At times, the control seems sloppy, but once you are used to it, you'll be solving crimes in no time. (7)
Entertainment: The game has just the right amount of difficulty so that younger gamers won't beat it in a day, but they won't find it impossible either. There is also a movie trailer to watch. (6)
