I'll kill the communist for fun, it will be my pleasure

Date of Review:  Jun 7, 2001
The Bottom Line: Scarface is an older film which has held up over time, this is a tribute to the story.
Review: The memorable line "SAY HELLO TO MY LIL' FRIEND!" led me to put Scarface on my must see list. I was not disappointed.

Many times, when viewing an older film, much is left to be desired because of updates in special effects and film...

Touched By A Drug Lord

Date of Review:  May 9, 2001
The Bottom Line: Predictability aside, this gripping movie has remained fresh after nearly 20 years. Better than any of the Italian mob movies, and a fantastic performance by Pacino.
Review: Generally, when I think of being ?touched? by something, it?s something nice and cutesy. Being ?Touched By An Angel?. Listening to a sweet, touching song. Sitting on a hill and being touched by a sunset. Hearing my friends complain that, ?that weird...

Date of Review:  Apr 23, 2005
The Bottom Line: "Scarface" is a Great F*cking Movie Motherf*cker!!! I keell you like a cockaroach!!!!!
Review:
In 1932, director Howard Hawks and producer Ben Hecht released a gangster film called Scarface about the rise and fall of a 1930s gangster. The film was violent and downright brutal. In the end, Hawks and Hecht's version of Scarface became a...

Scars

Date of Review:  Jun 18, 2001
The Bottom Line: Pacino at his finest and craziest, a must see classic of the genre.
Review: Seen the Light
I went in to seeing this movie really through the back way. I was a huge fan of De Palma's Carlito's Way, and was amazed by Pacino pulling off his performance as the Puero Rican Carlito Brigante. I made a remark about how I...

Scarface (1983)

Date of Review:  Apr 4, 2000
Review: Director Brian DePalma?s remake of the 1932 gangster picture "Scarface" is a must-see for all gangster movie fans. DePalma changed Scarface?s character from a Sicilian immigrant in the 1932 picture to a Cuban refugee, but otherwise the plot is...

Someone tell Michael Corleone to lose the Cuban accent & try a Valium

Date of Review:  Aug 11, 2004
The Bottom Line: While not the greatest gangster film ever put to celluloid, De Palma's brainchild Scarface should put a smile on the face of most gangster film fans.
Review: Brian De Palma's 1983 film Scarface (a remake of Howard Hawk's 1932 film of the same name) starring Al Pacino is certainly not (I repeat not) the creme de la creme of gangster cinema. In fact, De Palma's gangster classic Carlito's Way (which was...

Al Pacino: One of his best.

Date of Review:  Jan 15, 2000
Review: I know this movie was released quite some time ago (1983)but I still love this movie. I rent it every so often just to see it again because I think Pacino plays a tremendous part as the head of a cocaine cartel. He plays the part so unbelievably...

Scarface - 1983

Date of Review:  Mar 5, 2009
The Bottom Line:
“A devil in the flesh a rebel at its best
No complaining we live in hell and I'm blessed, Scarface”
~Lil Wayne
Review: Scarface tells the story of small time hood, Tony Montana, a Cuban immigrant that arrived in Miami during the big humanity transfer that Castro initiated. Using the guise of joining families that had been separated, Castro took the opportunity to...

Date of Review:  Feb 24, 2004
The Bottom Line: Its a f*ckin good movie, man.
Review: "Her womb is so polluted, I can't even have a f*cking little baby wit'er!"

-Tony Montana, on his wife

That right there, my little friends, is one of those brilliant and disturbing lines I've heard in a movie. Its brilliant...

The World is Yours

Date of Review:  Sep 30, 2005
The Bottom Line: A decadent guilty pleasure from the age of excess, Scarface is an-in-your-face, over-the-top chronicle of one demented thug's rise to power
Review: Perhaps the most tragic element of Brian DePalma's 1983 bombastic gangster epic Scarface is in the film's last moments, when the director dedicates his picture to the men who conceived the original 1932 Scarface: director Howard Hawks and...
