Great for the kids' rooms

We bought this for in our sons room. I didnt want anything real big, just something he can use and i wouldnt have to watch that cursed Bob the Builder all day. For the first few months it worked fine. We had a dvd/vcr combo hooked up to it. He probably watched videos 2-3 times a day and usually fell asleep watching it. He learned himself with the remote how to set the sleep timer so he wouldnt have to get up to shut it off. I can say as an adult the remote is small but easy to use. After those first few months the sound would get weird and cut out. I unplugged it and took the back of, cleaned a little dust and cat hair, put the back back on and the input and output sockets with alcohol, let it dry and replugged in the cords. Nothing changed so I thought maybe the cords were bad. We bought new cords and that too didnt help. Soooo maybe it's the DVD/VCR??? so we tried it with another dvd in the house and it didnt work. My husband took it to a kid at work going to school for electronics, he said he cleaned it out, i'm not sure what that means. That was about 2 years ago and it's worked fine ever since. I"m not sure if it just happened or if maybe my son bounced it around without me knowing. Either way for a bedroom or a kitchen it would be great, the picture quality is crystal clear. Like the other Tv's we have it's easly cleaned, sprayed with windex and wiped down. This one too has gone on trips to camp and has survived to and from. If it cant stand up to a 7 yr old boy, it's good in my book
