Papermate Liquid Expresso Extra Fine Point Black Ink Pens: Expressive!
Date of Review: Mar 7, 2007
The Bottom Line: Very stylish looking pen that writes very smoothly!
I was first drawn to this pen because it is attractive. It has a clear top, black and silver coloration and it just looked neat! I had to have it! Now that I've used this pen for several days, I have a love-hate relationship with it. Read on to find out why!
Papermate Liquid Expresso Extra Fine Point Ink Pen Black Ink
This pen has very eye catching details with a black, silver and clear design that will be noticed by all your co-workers.The barrel is black and silver with a snazzy design. The end of the barrel has a clear area where you can monitor your ink level. The cap is clear with a black pocket holder. You can see the fine tip point through the clear top and even see the ink level...clever design!
The Papermate Liquid Expresso Extra Fine Point Ink Pen Black Ink has a quick drying ink that is also a non-smear formula. This is a good feature for porous tipped pens.
The barrel of the Papermate Liquid Expresso Extra Fine Point Ink Pen Black Ink is a large one, if you do not like fat barreled pens, this one will not be to your liking.
The tip of the pen is visible and sticks out about 1/8 of an inch. It is a porous tipped pen with black ink.
You can also purchase this pen in a medium point. It comes in black, red, orange, blue, pink, purple and green ink. They retail for about $1.59 each.
My Thoughts On Papermate Expresso Pens Extra Fine Point Black Ink
Performance
The Papermate Liquid Expresso Extra Fine Point Ink Pen Black Ink delivers a very bright black ink. It really stands out compared to Sanford Uniball Pen's markings on the same page. But the lines are not really a fine line. If you compare this to the Sanform Uniball, the Uniball wins hands down. The print from this pen looks more like it came from a medium point pen and this is supposed to be an "extra fine point" pen.
Comfort
I think this pen is moderately comfortable to write with. I'm not one to love fat barreled pens because for me they are harder to write with for any length of time. I don't want to be writing with an instrument that will eventually give my fingers cramps.
Quality
So far, this seems to be a good quality pen. The appearance is certainly eye catching and enough to make pen lovers want this pen just because it is a good looking pen.
I can't fault this pen too much. It performs well and delivers a very bright black print that is continuous with no breaks. It's an overall smooth writing pen, just not a pen I would want to use on a daily basis all day because personally it isn't comfortable for long periods for me.
Recommendation
I give the Papermate Liquid Expresso Extra Fine Point Ink Pen Black Ink 4 Stars. It delivers a smooth writing experience with a bright black ink. I think anyone that prefers a thicker barrel on a pen will love this pen!
