GREAT!!

I wanted a MP3 player that my 18 year old mentally challenged neice who is being raised by my mature parents could enjoy. After researching the internet I came across the SanDisk Sansa Shaker. I bought it at Walmart, and was at first disappointed that it was not as big as I had hoped. But it was very cute. My neice was very excited just looking at the package. Her mental capacity is about 3 years old.

I spent about 15 minutes trying to open the casing to add the battery. Although there were instructions, they were not clear on how to open the casing. After pulling and twisting and being afraid that I would break it, I finally got it open. Once the battery was inserted and the shaker was turned on "BINGO" came out of the speaker. My neice's eyes lit up and she began clapping her hands, dancing and singing.

She very quickly understood how to twist the bands to change the song, and to adjust the volume. The volume setting is a winner. No matter how much she twists it, it does not go over a certain level. She is in no danger of high volume. The speaker is of decent quality, and I was surprised by the amount of sound such a small item possessed. The earbuds did not rest comfortably in her ears, so we opted for her larger ones that covered her ears.

My one disappointment was that no matter how hard we shook the Shaker, it did not shuffle to the next song. That was a minor detail that was not worth taking this gift away from my neice for one minute. When I left my parents thanked me profusely, as they would never have thought of this gift. My neice is not interested in toys, but she loves to sing.

I am definitely buying this item for my 2 grandchildren aged 4 years.
