No Faster than Extreme [I] on D70

The SanDisk Extreme 1GB (v.1) that came with my D70 from B&H has always worked fine - no problems with it. I needed a back up CompactFlash card, so I did some research. The conclusion I reached was that the SanDisk ExtremeIII was the fastest CompactFlash out there. Well, I don't know if the weak link is my Nikon D70 or the CompactFlash, but the Extreme III is exactly the same speed as far as I can tell as the Extreme I. My informal testing consisted of shooting 10 consecutive shots with the camera set on medium size and fine resolution. It ran out of reserve at nine with both cards. The total time it took to write all ten images to the card was 11.3 to 11.5 seconds for each - there was no difference at all between the two cards. While I don't own any other cards, I urge others to try the same tests with their D70s and report back on their findings.
