I bought my 1GB card off of ebay for $8 while Verizon was wanting me to pay $35 for the same thing. I have now had it for 6 months and not a single problem. I put the card in my computer and first defragmented it, and than put it in my phone to format it and put my info on it and defraged it again. I usually dont put any music on my phone, but I like to have the space available on the card for lots os pics and videos. I currently have over 700 pictures and 100 videos on the card and still havent used half of the memory. I like the fact you can take the card out of the phone too and use the SD adapater and use it in a computer to view your pictures on a bigger screen. Hard to believe that a chip the size of your fingernail can hold this much info and now they have them up to 8GB, but the 1GB does me in just fine.
I know this is a little off topic but to help those who keep having problems with theirs, try these steps:
1. When you first get the card, defragment it before putting any information on the card.
2. If the card is for your cellphone, go through and format your card, and put your information on it, than put the card back to your computer and defragment it again.
This will help free memory and put the information all together on the card, instead of storing it on any open sectors of the card. Also what I do is about once a month or so, I take my card out of my phone, and put in the computer and let is run an error check, and size errors if there are any, and than defragment. You want to do more often if you constantly store and erase songs, photos or videos, but doing this is a form of preventive maintainance, and will keep the card working smooth.
