Pros:
Lots of secrets, shortcuts and options. Good (not great) graphics, control and challenge.
Cons:
The music may drive people nuts. Graphics aren't as great as today's games, but at least there's no pop-up.

This is the first N64 arcade racer done right. Sure, there was Crusin' USA, but that game gave us nothing to work with! SF Rush, however, is chock full of secrets, and keeps the replay value high.
Sure, Rush is an arcade racer, but there's also an adventure element when you have to search for keys to unlock cars. Rush features the standard circut race, that makes you go through 24 courses (6 locations with 4 variations). This surley won't be completed in one day. You also have the option to race one track. Combine that with the option to adjust laps, opponents, direction, wind and fog, and you will have a game that won't get old quickly.
The graphics are good, at the time of release. They are pretty close to the actual arcade game. But if you compare these graphics to a game like Ridge Racer 64, the game looks pretty washed out. It's not horribly bad, they're just not as advanced as the games of today.
I've heard many complaints about the music from various videogame websites. Most of them rate the music as terrible. It's really not that bad, except for the fact that it sounds like it's compressed to 14400 mHz. In other words, it kind of sounds like a muffled .WAV file. The sound effects are nice, though.
The game physics are a bit odd. Either the cars are superlight, or that Earth suddenly has the same gravity as the moon. You'll be spending a lot of time in the air. The control of the cars are great, but perhaps a little stiff at times. It feels like moving a huge 3-ton mass on the ground sometimes (usually it's the expert cars that suffer from this).
The game is pretty difficult on the medium difficulty setting, and it's not just the cars. You'll really have to haul a-- between checkpoints if you want to win on the extreme setting. If you want a real challenge, set on the DEATHS mode, where one big crash ends the game.
I forgot to mention that the cars explode like gasoline drenched Pintos with some C4 strapped on. KA-BOOM!!!
This game is really fun, and very close to SF Rush: Alcatraz Edition. If you want some insane racing action, try this game out.
