Pros: Multi-format, ethernet connection for software updates
Cons: Some movies take a while to load
The Bottom Line: For those that may have invested in HD-DVD movies, this is a great player so you can continue to enjoy movies in high definition.
Review: I purchased this player in June and have had great luck with it. I've given it a lot of use since I was out of work for 3 months after knee surgery. Not only do the Blu-ray and HD-DVD movies look great, but so do all my regular DVDs. It upconverts all ...

Pros: Compatible with playback of Blu-Ray, HD-DVD, and DVD. Improved detail, clarity, color & audio fidelity.
Cons: Speaker test needs a fix, as does 100Hz crossover for analog multi-channel audio output.
The Bottom Line: Entering the BR market and have HD DVDs? THIS is the player to purchase.
UPDATE - Enjoying it so much that I've purchased a second one on close-out ($450 new-in-box)!
Review: One day in and I can't find a much of a downside to this player. Hooked up via component (sorry no HDMI on either my TV or AV Receiver) to a 1080i 65" Mitsubishi WS-65907 (viewed from 12 feet) via an Onkyo TX-DS989. No problems with playing back ...

Pros: Excellent picture quality
Nice remote
Easy setup
Cons: Limited audio capability
Easily scratched slick surface
Small and dim display
The Bottom Line: A very good player with some limitations. The flexibility and picture quality rival most any product of it's kind, especially with the recent drop in prices.
Review: BACKGROUND: I hesitated jumping into a dual player. Mainly because of the complexity involved with integrating two high definition formats with all the associated hardware and software requirements. Then there were the reports early on that dual players ...

Pros: Plays both Blu-Ray and HDDVD for $200 less than the LG.
Cons: You can't get one ANYWHERE...yet! No DVD Upscaling on component outputs.
The Bottom Line: When they become generally available, go get one!
Review: UPDATE: This review was written BEFORE Toshiba gave up on HD-DVD. If you are looking to buy a high-def player, and have not accumulated a library of HD-DVD titles, save your money and get a Blu-Ray only player. If you have an existing library ...
