The Bottom Line:
I would never purchase anything else from Samsung. Bad quality and worse customer service.

It didn't take long for this to stop recording certain types of DVDs. Unfortunately, it no longer records anything, just 10 months after purchasing it. When I try to record onto a DVD, it gives me a very strange message with three sentence fragments. None of them make any sense. Most of the input ports do not work. When I called Samsung, I was told it would be $30 to repair it. But I was also told that I should try a lens cleaner before I do. That didn't help so I called back. This time they told me it is $64 to have it repaired. I told them I was told it was $30 and they should honor it. I was told I had to talk to Executive Customer Relations to get this resolved. After several attempts at this, I was told another area would have to handle this in order for me to get the $30. I had already called seven times over this, just to get to customer relations. Finally, I said after all of this, they should charge me nothing for customer goodwill. I have been hung up on twice (once because I said that when the people tell me I'll be on hold for a minute or two, it usually ended up as 10 minutes), put on hold for over an hour while waiting for ECR (but nobody told me they were gone for the night), sent to a store in Texas (the person there said they get calls from Samsung all the time), and a fax machine. I have now called 15 times to get this resolved.
