Do not buy this printer

Based on my experience, Samsung may make good LCD TVs but this does not hold true for printers. I bought the Samsung CLP-300 and just a day after black specks (resembling the Cisco logo) started to appear across the whole left side of the paper. I brought it to the service center and they told me that I only needed cleaning. A week after it was "cleaned", the blacks specks and spots returned so I brought it back. I was informed that a number of major internal parts had to be replaced. I tried to have the printer itself replaced but Samsung was only willing to "repair only". Imagine buying a new car and the engine breaks down after a day's use. In this case, replace not return is the only remedy. It will take 4 weeks to order the parts from Korea and I expect that it will take a total of 2 months before I get my printer back. I've had a terrible experience with this Samsung printer and the bad Samsung customer service made the matter worst.

As a printer, the color printing was slow and does not match the print quality of even the cheaper inkjet printers of HP or Canon. Do not buy this if you think you can print good quality color print out. For black printing, the prints aree good but there is no toner-saver mode to conserve toner and the printer's draft mode is still too dark. A toner saver mode/setting is standard on most HP printers. Obviously, the aim here is to make you buy more printer toner - which is where Samsung really makes it money. It's not that small and it's pretty heavy - it's not as portable as the ads make it out to be. It's also difficult to buy toner since it's not readily available in retail stores and you have to order it from accredited distributors. I was told that it would take a month to get toner.
