ok for the price

The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a budget camera with a few extra features generally found only in pricier models , this is a good pick .
My old camera was a Canon PowerShot A70 but the megapixels were too small so I decided to upgrade as I wanted a cheap but decent camera for my son's wedding .
I wanted a camera that would have 8 MP or more , be around $100 and could be set on AUTO and take a pretty good shot indoors or out .
I researched a lot of cameras and this seemed to fit the bill and basically I was satisfied with the camera but not thrilled .
The camera does not have a viewfinder and taking pictures in bright sun is pretty much a guessing game - the LCD is just black and you cannot tell if you have a good shot or not .
Inside , on AUTO settings, the pictures generally came out crisp and clear. There is an anti-shake setting which is nice and face detection - there are also other settings for macro , scenes for fireworks, beach, sunset and more - you can zoom in on a photo and do editing right on the screen. The LCD scress in 2.5 inches which is a nice plus .
One thing that is disconcerting is that there is really no manual for the camera - there is a help menu built right in the camera but you have to download a PDF file to actually get a real hard copy of a manual.
Another issue I had a few times was that the lens would get stuck in an outward position and would not rertract. I think I figured out that this has soemthing to do with low batteries . I had to power off the camera , reinsert the batteries and then the lens would retract. Rechargeables are a must and I bought a 2G SD card also.
Overall, so far this camera is about what you would expect for the price - $100 and that included a 1G card and a case .
