Great printer and value

I bought this printer as a 2nd printer for volume or day-to-day printing, thus to save the black-ink cartridge on an HP printer for when I wanted to do color inkjet printing. I have been thoroughly happy with it.

Set up is simple. An installation CD and colorful pictorial set-up guide are handy and helpful. It's very much plug-'n-play, once you insert the toner cartridge. Cartridge life is stated as 3,000 copies. The cartridge packed with it either was a starter or was deficient because it didn't last that long. But the replacement one has. Toner costs about $84 or so and finding a replacement in stock locally was not a problem. A paper output guide snaps in place and you're done.

I would suggest Mac users (as I am) to download a newer print driver, even though the Mac OS has so many built in and the printer's setup CD has one. Early on I had occasional problems with the printer not fully responding to print commands. New driver installation seems to have settled everything down.

An easy-to-see orange button allows job-cancellation and also is used to generate a test print. Paper loading is  straightforward. The toner cartridge snaps in place easily. A green light indicates all is well; a red one displays if there's a problem.

But the *REAL* beauty of this printer coomes in its blazing --and I mean *blazing*-- speed. At any price there are few printers that could be faster than this one. Print quality is excellent.

I paid only $49 for it on sale at an online vendor. Savings in inkjet cartridge depletion alone easily pays for this printer.
