Author's Review
This is our first HD TV, so we really researched this purchase. We wanted a small tv for our fairly small bedroom. It has many input, like 2 HDMIs.
Picture
One of the best things about this tv is that we plugged it into rabbit ears (RCA plug in) and the HD picture for our Los Angeles area stations came in super clear. Would have liked a bigger tv, but didn't want to spend the extra $200 for another 3" - besides this tv doesn't overpower the room and its not our main tv. Because we put this up on a tall bureau, viewing it from the bed (which is lower)made the picture look dark. So we just adjusted the picture and all is fine.
Menu
This menu has an unbelievable number of options. You can set many different sound options - it even has an equalizer. It lets you set the tv to wake you up like an alarm clock, with a preset tv station and volume, and then automatically turn off. Good if you want to make your home look lived in. The many options are fun to play with. And of course it lets you set up favorite station presets and pretty much every option you could imagine.
Remote
The remote has almost too many buttons. The key ones are large and (e.g., volume, station, etc.) light up if you can find that button that does that. Happy with it, but wished it lit up. After about 2 weeks, I'm already starting to memorize the most commonly used ones.
Sound
The biggest deal killer for many small tvs that we saw in stores was the speakers. No, I'm not going to add on speakers for a bedroom tv. We literally turned down all of the surrounding tvs in stores to determine which ones had the best sound. Sony was also good or better, but their pic was so so and it was way more expensive. Sharp had a great pic, but when turning the volume way up we could barely hear it,even up close. And this was at several stores.
When the 32" version of an upgraded Samsung (LNT3253H) went on sale for only $200 more than this set only 3 weeks later, we returned this one and bought the bigger set. Wow on the new set...check out my review on that one here at ePinions.
