Samsung’s 87S and 89S DLP sets with LED lighting have definite advantages over other technologies.

Pros: Best combination of picture quality and affordability amongst large 1080p sets plus low power consumption.
Cons: Typical rear-projection cons: can’t wall mount and limited viewing angle. Hard to find.
The Bottom Line: Best large 1080p TV for the money. Picture quality, low power consumption, and 3 HDMI 1.3 inputs make this the TV to get if you don't need wall mount.
Review: If you can get one, picture quality is quite good, save for the limited viewing angle (typical for rear projection). Three HDMI inputs is nice, with the slightly pricier 89S series supporting version 1.3 versus HDMI version 1.1 on the 87S series. The ...

Pros: It has LED bulbs. So no more color wheel or costly bulb replacements.
Cons: Takes a few seconds to turn on.

Bad Samsung tv or TI LED engine

Pros: Picture look sharp and bright from the distance.
Cons: LED engine should last the life of the set - mine lasted lessthen 5 months
