Samsung DVD-M101 - Cheap DVD Player That Delivers

The Bottom Line: The M101 is a great choice for people who want a basic DVD player inexpensive, but good enough not to have issues that some sub $100 machines do.

Samsung DVD-M101 DVD Player , my great bargain

Samsung DVD-M101 plays VCDs but NOT on CDR.

The Bottom Line: If I did some more research before buying, I would definitely spent more money, and at least made sure it works well with VCD-CDR's.
Review: My brother bought Samsung DVD M101 player from ubid.com for $90. It came in in an opened box, but it wasn't broken or scratched, I guess it was one of the returns where customer just didn't like it or decided to go with something else.

Dies After Two Years

The Bottom Line: Spend the money and invest in something better. Unless its a second or third player then for the price this one is great.
Review: My parents bought it at Wal*Mart over two years ago without my input and now it almost regularly skips on any discs. Good disc or not the player decides whether it will be read.

The signal response is agonizingly slow. You hit the button...

The Bottom Line: Unless you are willing to spend several hundred dollars on a DVD player, this is probably your best choice.

Why spend more for a basic DVD player?

The Bottom Line: I was a little hesitant purchasing this brand, having been a Sony customer for years. But after living with it for 6 months, I give it a whole-hearted recommendation.
Review: The Samsung DVD-M101 has everything you need in a DVD player. The only reason to spend more would be to get a Progressive-scan model for those with a high-definition television set.
