Nice Dryer, Easy to use.
Pros:
Nice Dryer, lots of features, generally quiet (see review). Clothes come out wrinkle-free.
Cons:
Replacement Dryer clunks as drum rotates, first Dryer arrived dented. Shouldn't clunk!
The Bottom Line:
It's a great Dryer but we have concerns regarding Samsung's quality control. Shipping damage and the Dryer's drum seam not perfect which causes noise.

The Dryer has setting for all type of loads including towels, permanent press, normal, heavy duty, etc. It also has "timed dry" and variable temperature settings for both modes. It also keeps running if the wrinkle guard is on. The Dryer is not as quiet as the matching Washer but makes a constant humming as it runs which isn't too noticeable. The clothes come out very nice and not wrinkled.
Samsung however, seems to have issues with shipping these units from Korea? Our first Dryer arrived with the sides dented but we accepted the delivery while Best-Buy scheduled a replacement Dryer to be delivered. It worked flawlessly, despite the dented sides. They brought us a replacement Dryer that is noisy. Every revolution of the drum makes a clunk sound. We determined the noise is caused by the seam-weld on the drum. There are 4 support wheels for the drum, 2 in front and 2 in back, if it's made like every other Dryer? As the seam comes around, the gutter of the seam makes a clunk as it passes the support wheels. So the cluck transmits through the walls and floor of our home. The drum turns at approximately 50 RPM so 50 times a minute is the clunk sequence. Then the Dryer just plain quit. I jiggled it and it started going again. Best Buy is again - going to replace the Dryer. I don't know if Samsung has changed their manufacturing process of the Dryer's drum but our first Dryer was manufactured in 11/2007 and the second Dryer 05/2007. The second one arrived in flawless condition as far as the exterior is concerned but the drum seam is a bummer. Clunk, clunk, clunk. I am wondering if others are having the rotational clunk caused by a poor seam? The new Dryer would be easy to live with if it didn't clunk. The constant hum of the first Dryer was very acceptable.
A word about Best-Buy. They are excellent to deal with. Sears had the Samsung on a 15% off sale and free delivery. Best-Buy beat the discount by giving us 17% off and free delivery. Best-Buy only charges $200 for a 5 year warranty on both the Washer and Dryer and Sears charges around $700 or more! Crazy. Yes, Sears says their warranty covers a yearly checkup but it can't be worth it. Hooray for Best-Buy. And, if you don't like your new Washer and Dryer, within 30 days they will exchange it from another model or give your money back.
