Product Review

Great Samsung Product

by   saturnpc ,   Apr 8, 2006

Pros:  Short foot print, speed and quality

Cons:  Inability to print dual-sided in one pass.

The Bottom Line:  Recommended due to it small size, it speed and the quality as it prints, even on toner saver mode.

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

Author's Review

I bought this printer as a replacement to a Lexmark Z52 and an Oki 4W; Now this printer is in conjunction with a Epson C64 which will be replaced for a R300 but that is another review.
As I was writing, I bought it to print mostly B&W and inkjet was too expensive for just that, printing invoices, brochures, just name it. It is quick in warming up, by stopwatch it took 35.23s to warm-up, which was not happening with my Oki 4w; it was taking 4.30 minutes. The difference is visible.

What I’d like most of this ML-2010 is it short foot print, its speed and its quality, something I was not getting from my Lexmark neither my Oki 4w. Also one thing I liked about it is its clean look, the color is just great.

What it did no liked too much was its inability to print dual-sided in one pass, and the low capacity toner or starter toner; it is only 1000 pages by what I’ve read on the Samsung’s site. I’m still testing that out.

By far from it very first installation (connecting the AC cable, USB Cable, Driver Installation) it was just plain easy, I was printing in no time. Like I say to friends “It is designed stupid proof”.
Even loading paper is easy; also using the Toner Saver function gives no difference in printing quality.

The paper tray, located on the front, bottom, holds 150 sheets. The paper exits on top of the printer. There is a dust cover for the top of your exposed paper, so it doesn't get dusty, also used as a manual loader for envelopes and legal paper if you don't use it often. The starter toner cartridge is good for 1000 copies. The replacements cost about $70-90 depending on where you get them.

Update: Since April 8 to today November 16 the provided ink toner has gotten past the 1000 page mark and still no evidence that the ink is low or is printing poorly. Also one other thing that I noticed is that as soon as I send something to print I have no wait time wish for me is a good thing. This printer is going strong also good quality.
