Speedy Delivery

The Bottom Line: The Sakar Secure Digital Card/MultiMedia Card Reader CR-35-M provides a better speedy delivery than Mr. Roger's mailman.
Why We Needed this Speed Reader:
I am the queen of pictures; when one of our coupled friends asks me to take a picture, I have to take ten. Despite having multiple 1GB SanDisk Memory Cards that hold hundreds of pictures, I regularly get the 'card full' error message.
Transferring pictures to the computer has always been a drag; involving finding the USB port, plugging the camera in, and playing the waiting game on file transfer. The other horrible thing is reversing this; as often I put pictures back on the camera card to print at CVS.
I thought out loud, "There must be an easier way to do this."
To which my hubby replied, "There is, we can get a card reader."
It was one of those moments where he received a look of death as if to say, "Why didn't you tell me about it sooner."
We were picking up wedding pictures at Ritz when we remembered we needed this item and found the Sakar CR-35 Secure Digital Card/MultiMedia Card Reader CR-35-M there for $18. Choosing this one was a luck of the draw for us, as it was the only one available at the store.

About this Speed Reader:
The Sakar CR-35 is a product of Digital Concepts that is a secure disk, multimedia card reader/writer, which helps drag and drop pictures from the memory card to the computer or vice-versa in the blink of an eye. With this product music and images can be transferred from/to digital cameras, hand-held PCs, and other flash-compatible devices.
What You Get:
Inside the package is a silver colored USB cable that connects the card reader to the USB port. Next, there is the silver and blue colored (the picture on this page is incorrect) external card reader to read the memory stick. The reader has a slot in which you put the memory stick (like the photo machine at the store).
Installation:
The Sakar CR-35 is PC and Mac compatible with a USB 1.1 or USB 2.0 port. Also compatible with Windows 98SE, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Mac OS X, or Mac OS 8.6 or higher.
Installation is plug and play. All you do is attach the USB cable to the reader and the USB port and put the memory stick in. We usually leave the reader attached to the computer and take memory cards in and out as necessary.
Likes:
- Can easily transport reader/writer in my purse. This is helpful for when I want to steal files from my brothers computer.
- Can transfer music and pictures easily between computers.
- Store images on computer in record time by opening card folder and desired placement folder; drag and drop. Transfer speeds up to 900Kbps; Fifty pictures take under a second, hundreds of pictures can take as little as 1 minute.
- Easily place images on computer for editing and then transfer back to card for printing. Takes items on and off the computer with ease, which is great for us fickled music listeners and photobucket-heads.
- Don't need to plug camera in to USB cable; saves battery power and is less frustrating to use.
- Leave attached to computer and easily slide card in and out of reader as needed.
- When a memory stick is placed into the reader, computer immediately recognizes it and I can instantly view pictures.
Dislikes:
- When pictures are placed back on card after editing, the photo machine at CVS can read them, but they are unable to view on camera.
Recommendation:
The Sakar Secure Digital Card/MultiMedia Card Reader CR-35-M is as easy to use as a floppy disk. It makes transferring music and images quick, easy, convenient, and desirable. Because of this little device, I can edit images at home and safely and reliably transfer them back to the memory card so I spend less time at the photo machine at CVS. This device costs little, but gives me a lot of satisfaction. It also takes a lot of abuse and keeps on working; we keep it under our desk and I have tossed it around and stepped on it with bare feet without any repercussion. I highly recommend the Sakar Secure Digital Card/MultiMedia Card Reader CR-35-M.
