Great for Advanced Flightsimmers

by   clearconcise ,  Dec 11, 2006
Pros: Excellent build quality, Easy to program, Enough controls for anyone
Cons: Expensive, LCD screen isn't very useful
The Bottom Line: It's perfect for advanced flightsimmers but perhaps overkill for beginners. Well worth the price, but only if you can use the features it offers.
Review: The "I'm in a Hurry" Section: This joystick is great for advanced flight simmers, which is not too surprising considering it is marketed as a "flight control system". There are more than enough controls that, when used along with the mode and shift ...

MechWarrior Madness - excellent joystick!

by   themcp ,  Dec 8, 2005
Pros: Well built, holds up well despite the large quantity of features.
Cons: Static sensitive.
The Bottom Line: Overall good product - would highly recommend if you're looking for the ultimate joystick.
Review: I'm an avid Mechwarrior fan and play on average, 5 hours a night. Have owned this controller since they first came out (like 6 months ago) and have been overall pleased. If you like to be able to configure button assignments and have a function for ...

A must-have if you own MS Flight Sim 2004

by   mfrerkes ,  Aug 15, 2006
Pros: Tons of buttons, sliders, and features. Nicely constructed.
Cons: None really. The MFD is just a decoration with no real purpose.
Review: For years I always used my trusty Microsoft Sidewinder stick during flight simulations. However, it doesn't hold a candle to what the Saitek X52 offers anyone who enjoys being an armchair pilot. The throttle is nothing short of spectacular and you can ...

Flight simmers dream

by   intak ,  Jan 15, 2007
Pros: Ultimate flight control system.
Cons: Rather high price.
Review: Whats better than being able to use two hands to fly? If you are really into flying, the X52 is a must. It is very well built and has far more buttons than could ever be used. Map all control surfaces, throttle, trim and use the built in mouse ...

Don't mind me, I've gone MIA!

by   sequimpc ,  Jun 27, 2006
Pros: The rubber suction cups keep it from sliding around in the heat of battle.
Cons: It feels a little like a toy because it is light weight.
Review: I bought this joystick after careful deliberation. I bought an Electronic Arts game called Battlefield 2 and just could not get the jets to maneuver like some of the other pilots. I ended up in a Christian run server and asked one of the pilots how he ...

Expensive but fun toy!

by   atomicflx ,  Sep 25, 2006
Pros: Nice looks, good movement, dimmable lights, wheels are perfect for trim!
Cons: Software, high price, limited by the game, LCD is useless
The Bottom Line: Software stinks but the controls are very nice with more than enough features. Dont buy it for the LCD, its usless!
Review: I bought the x52 a week ago and I only have two problems, how much I payed for it, and the software. Lets start with the throttle. It has a rather useless LCD display. This display is only functional if you set up a "profile" using the saitek ...

Joystick and throttle combo for simmers

by   canard_du_jour ,  Sep 5, 2005
Pros: Very smooth handling, lots of tweak ability, LCD on throttle, ergonomic, bang for the bucks
Cons: Saitek Smart Technology software to program joystick is limited, well it sucks
The Bottom Line: Recommended for all simmers for its ergonomic design, program ability, smooth feeling, nice finish and competitive price
Review: Why did you buy this product? I'm a flight sim fan. I played Falcon 3.0, Falcon 4.0 and now I just bought Falcon 4.0 Allied Force. If you don't know about this simulator, it is the most accurate and complex one of the F16 available to the ...

Evolution of the joystick

by   Bradman ,  Sep 25, 2005
Pros: Well built, everything is programmable.
Cons: Programming software could be better.
The Bottom Line: Great control setup for simulation fanatics.
Review: I owned the previous version, the one with the joysitck connector not USB, and I was very pleased with it. When I built my new computer I realized that I did not have a joystick port, everything is going USB. I sold the joystick and then regretted it ...

by   taz2143 ,  Oct 26, 2005
Pros: Good feel & Good Value for your dollar. Recommended for the flight simmer.
Cons: Programming software could be easier to use, Can only use one profile at a time.
The Bottom Line: I recommend this product to those that are avid flight simmers . Plenty of features and the ability to program the system to your liking.
Review: I am an avid flight simmer. Before I made the decision to purchase the X-52. I had not used a Flight Control/Hands On Throttle And Stick (HOTAS) system before, but after reading numerous professional and user reviews, I decided to purchase the X-52 ...

X-52 Flight Control

by   woodycp1 ,  Aug 13, 2006
Pros: Easy to use makes control the aircraft a lot easier.
Cons: Plagued with problems
Review: I like the flight control system, however this is going to be the second time I am going to have to return it in less than a year. The connector on the joystick was faulty on the first one, now the joystick has internal failure which allows button 5 to ...
