Horrible design

Once my daughter outgrew our kitchen-sink baby bath tub, I was desperate to find a safe way to bathe her in our full size tub. Although she was sitting well on her own, I don't think it's safe to leave babies or young toddlers unsupported in the tub. Too much can happen in the short second it takes to reach for a washcloth.

I tried a number of alternative solutions. I was wrong - fortunately the major baby chain I purchased it from accepted the return.

DESIGN -
The seat is designed to attach a security arm over the side of the tub to prevent the seat from tipping and to cushion the adults elbows while bathing baby. Unfortunately the arm width is not adjustable and therefore will not fit over most tub sides. This arm is not removable. If the arm does not fit over tub side, the entire seat is unusable.
The closed back to the seat makes it difficult to reach baby's back and bottom.
Finally, storage is a problem as the seat is rather bulky and the arm does not collapse.
The swivel seat is a nice feature but overshadowed by the other negatives.

SAFETY -
As noted above, the seat contains an arm that is intended to fit over the tub side. However, if it doesn't fit, you cannot safely push the arm out of the way and use the seat anyway. The arm makes the seat top heavy and likely to tip as the baby is moved in and out of the seat. Maneuvering a wet, slippery baby and trying balance the seat was very dangerous.
