Tub Time is Fun Time!

"Now this is exactly what I need" is what I was thinking as I walked out of our local WalMart with bath seat in hand.
The price was right and after all I did need to replace my son's spongy bath mat with something a little more grown up (he's now 7 mos. old).
I was all excited telling my baby how great it would be while his daddy was installing the unit to the side of the tub. And then reality hit. It was going to be more difficult to get him in this thing. I was so used to just lying him in the tub on his bath sponge bear that I forgot that bath seats could be quite difficult (take in the fact that he's got chunky legs). But there we were standing at the side of the tub I slowly lowered him into it and WOW it did work.
I got him in with no problems (thank heavens that the seat swivels almost the whole way around for ease of use). He also liked to sit and play in it and not having to support him constantly was quite a relief.
I did notice a few things I didn't like though. If your tub isn't perfectly flat along the sides then it doesn't sit exactly how it should but a 20 lb. baby sitting in it will fix that problem. Also I too noticed that the upper sides of the leg holes seemed a tad bit on the scratchy side so take care when removing the child from it. Also it is awfully large to just leave sitting around the bathroom when not in use and when you have a small bathroom small objects are best.
I liked the arm rest too...it has a non slip surface so you don't have to worry about planting your face into the side of your tub when you end up getting your arm wet and forget.
One problem I see with this and all other bath seats is that it's hard to wash the baby all over while they are in them so you do still have to do some minor touch up work after you get them out.
All in all a wonderful product that just has a few things it needs tweaked.


After using this product for a few months I have noticed a couple of minor flaws. One is the fact that due to the swiveling mechanism that allows you to rotate the child around in the tub that the water will get in the bottom. You must remember to drain it out after every bath or you go to take it out and end up with a big puddle of water on the floor. Also the foam pads that are used to keep it from scratching your tub slowly start to peel off and then end up leaving a residue on the side of the tub.

I'm still really glad I purchased this item and my son will only be using it for about another month and it has held up great. Great product for the price.
