Nice lock for our oven

I didn't realize that our oven had no safety lock until my 10 month old son kept trying to get into the oven! I found the Safety 1st Oven Front Lock at Babies R Us for $3.99.

The lock is a hinge-type device that has an adhesive on one side to mount on the upper front part of the oven. The hinge closes down to lock and prevent the door from opening. To open, the slide lock is on a spring and you have to slide it to the right to disengage and flip it up to open the door.

I have been using it for about 2 months now and it works very well. My one pet peeve is that my 6 year old daughter was playing with it and pulled it off the oven. So now the adhesive is less sticky and I have to be careful my son doesnt pull it off as well. The adhesive should be made more stronger. And it would be nice if it came with an extra adhesive. It only comes in white which may not blend with some kitchens.

Overall this oven lock works well and is quite sturdy despite the fact that my daughter pulled it off, making it less adhesive. But it is still working!
