The Safety 1st Oven Front Lock has been a top notch piece of safety equipment in my kitchen. I have two small children who are always interested in what's going on in the oven, and I was constantly afraid to leave the kitchen when something was cooking/baking in the oven for fear they would open the oven and get hurt.

Placement of the oven lock is very easy- requires no tools. It attaches with a very strong adhesive tape. It locks the oven, yet easily opens for an adult who knows the "trick". In order to open you push the lock inward and over the side. Easy for an adult, yet difficult enough to keep your little one OUT of the oven!

One downside of the lock is if you have a self cleaning oven. I once did a self clean cycle and the very high temperatures loosened the adhesive and the lock came off. I had to purchase another lock. This might be avoidable in some way, but I haven't been able to figure out how yet.

The Safety 1st Oven Front lock is available at Babies R Us. You can sometimes find them on Ebay new in the package for a good deal. It's inexpensive for the peace of mind it provides.
