This $2.79 safety product could save a life

by   pablothegreat ,  Apr 12, 2008
Pros: Prevents children from opening door, works well, portable, sturdy, automatically engages once used
Cons: Older children can hit it and break it off, frustrates some adults
The Bottom Line: A wonderful safety device product for young children and special needs children. Inexpensive and vital way to protect children
Review: My child is an eloper which I was told by another parent of an autistic child. That means she will wander off down the road and just keep going. She has little safety awareness nor that fear that most children have of being away from their parents. So I ...

by   freebiehunter6 ,  Dec 9, 2007
Pros: Durable and prevents children from opening doors
Cons: Difficult to clasp onto door and sometimes difficult even for parents to turn
The Bottom Line: Even though installation can be tricky, this product still provides the durability and dependability you'd expect from Safety 1st.

Not recommended for doors leading outside

by   theoleyschool ,  Aug 3, 2008
Pros: They will keep some children from turning the doorknob
Cons: They break apart with little effort
The Bottom Line: These are ok for some children but I wouldn't rely on them to keep a child indoors.
Review: Safety First doorknob covers may work very well for your child. I purchased these when my toddler started opening the doors. These may work for most children but they did not work for mine. They are made of plastic and snap together around the doorknob ...
