The Saab 9-5 Sedan is one sweet car

Date of Review:  Mar 26, 2001
The Bottom Line: This car is great, and the service that you get at the dealership is even better.
Review: I bought a new 2001 Saab 9-5 sedan about a month ago, and I can't get over it. It is a great car. Its no Jaguar, but hey, its not meant to be!

In the following article I will list the features that the car has, provide comments on those...

Stealth, economical, comfortable, exceeding expectations

Date of Review:  Jan 30, 2006
The Bottom Line: A solid, safe, fast, economical roomy stylish wagon, with good service, OnStar virtues. Exceeded high expectations.
Review: I owned quite a few Volvos, a Honda, VW, before I leased (eventually buying out) a 2001 Saab 9-5 wagon, with the base 2.3 engine, automatic.

My big decision was driven by Consumer Reports favorable reliability rating of the Saab. I have...

More than you might expect

Date of Review:  May 25, 2006
The Bottom Line: Be prepared for somewhat higher maintenace costs but a unique ride experience. I could get a Honda but... its not the same thing.
Review: This car never screams at you. its very subtle. in fact i bought it on a whim at a dealer lot. its a used car with 70,000 miles. The cars have low resale so i figured it was a good deal. I have to tell you these cars grow on you and charm you...

The Best Car I Have Owned

Date of Review:  Apr 23, 2005
The Bottom Line: If you can afford this car, buy it. If you have kids and animals, buy the wagon (if you can find one). Comfort, style, quality, speed, handling, safety.
Review: My 2001 Saab 9-5 SE Sportwagon is the best car I have ever owned. It is utilitarian, yet stylish. Heavy, yet fast. Simple, yet luxurious. Solid, yet supple. Plush, yet athletic.

From the most comfortable and supportive heated and...

excellent value

Date of Review:  Nov 14, 2006
The Bottom Line: Great handling euro-sedan that gets excellent mileage and can be bought for a song. What's not to like.
Review: Bought a 2001 9-5 with 75,000 miles on it this summer and I'm really happy with it. The black leather interior really stands up well, everybody thinks it's a new car. Very fun to drive, fantastic acceleration, particularly good in heavy rain. These...

Saab 9-5 SE V6 Turbo

Date of Review:  Mar 12, 2005
The Bottom Line: This roomy sedan has among the largest trunk and rear leg room combined with a smooth and fast engine. My car was unreliable, but try the 4 cylinder.
Review: I purchased my 2001 9-5 3.0 Turbo as a certified used vehicle with 32K miles. I traded a V8 Explorer and needed a large trunk and better mileage, which the 9-5 definitely has. After test driving the Acura 3.2TL (tiny trunk and bland), Lexus 300GS...

Wagons HO! Best in class for the 9-5 Wagon!

Date of Review:  Dec 7, 2001
The Bottom Line: It's a great car to drive -- comfortable, roomy, sturdy and reliable. And you get all that without sacrificing sportiness.
Review: About six months ago my now-husband and I decided to trade two cars (a 99 Saab 900S and a 99 Pontiac Grand Am) for one nice car. We already had a GMC Jimmy that we loved, and were thinking second SUV. We pretty much ruled out anything small or a...

Paid for a Saab, got an Oldsmobile

Date of Review:  Sep 21, 2005
The Bottom Line: Would you purchase a car that loses it's transmission at 69,000 miles? Saab owners demand quality, not a rebadged Chevy Impala.
Review: I own a 2001 Saab SE with 69,900 miles on it. I come from a long line of Saab owners, yet broke from family tradition and purchased two BMW's (1985 BMW 325e and 1993 325is) which I loved and were trouble-free. In 2001, I contemplated a 5 series, but...

2001 9-5 Wagon: sacrificed her life for mine

Date of Review:  Jul 7, 2002
The Bottom Line: It saved my life.
Review: Intro
Before I start the review, a little truth in advertising:
I had a previous review written about this car from a utilitarian and comfort view point. Unfortunately, a Cadillac speeding through a red light (40+ MPH) allowed me to test...

A True Sport Utility Vehicle.

Date of Review:  Jul 4, 2001
The Bottom Line: Buy it and keep it for 400,000 miles!
Review: I will admit my personal bias upfront. We've owned many Saabs ('89 900 Turbo, '89 9000 CD Turbo, '96 900S [reviewed here], '97 9000 Aero, and this 9-5 V6 wagon) and I like them a great deal. Not so much so that I am blindedly one-sided, though. I...
